Help Us Bring a New Fire Boat to Our Community

Protecting Our Coastline. Serving Our Community.

The Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Department is launching a community fundraising campaign to purchase a new fire boat equipped with a modern, high-capacity marine firefighting system.

Our Goal: Raise $1 Million

For more than 20 years, our current fire boat has served the waters of Centerville, Osterville, and Marstons Mills. The boat is a 2006 U.S. Coast Guard surplus vessel that has been a tremendous asset to our department, but it was never designed for the type of emergency response work we ask it to do today. To add to the challenge, we don’t actually own the boat. It remains on loan from the local government.

Fire Boat

After years of dependable service, it’s time for a replacement. A modern, purpose-built fire boat will ensure we can continue providing safe, reliable, and effective emergency response on the water for years to come.

The Town of Barnstable has 179 miles of coastline. The C-O-MM Fire District alone protects approximately 35 to 40 miles of coastline, including 8 miles along Nantucket Sound. With miles of shoreline, hundreds of waterfront homes, busy marinas, and thousands of seasonal boaters, a dedicated marine firefighting vessel isn’t a luxury. It’s a necessity.

A new fire boat will strengthen our ability to respond to:

  • Marine fires
  • Water rescues
  • Waterfront emergencies
  • Marina and vessel fires
  • Search and rescue incidents
  • Mutual aid requests across Cape Cod & The Islands

With miles of coastline, hundreds of waterfront homes, active marinas, and thousands of seasonal boaters, having a dedicated marine firefighting vessel is critical to protecting the people and property of our community.

Be Part of Something That Lasts

This project is about more than purchasing a boat—it’s about investing in the safety of our community for generations to come.

Whether you’re a resident, business owner, waterfront homeowner, or simply someone who believes in supporting first responders, your contribution will help make this project a reality.

Every donation brings us one step closer to launching the next generation of marine emergency response.

A Once-in-a-Lifetime Naming Opportunity

An individual, family, business, or organization that fully funds the purchase of the new fire boat may have the opportunity to name the vessel, subject to approval by the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Department and the appropriate governing authorities.

This is a unique opportunity to leave a lasting legacy while helping protect our community for decades to come.
