Dear Residents,
As outdoor watering season approaches, Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Water Department (C-O-MM) is working with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to assist our residents in saving water and protecting the environment while keeping their lawns healthy. As a community, it is important we conserve our water resources. Lawncare companies and private caretakers can still maintain a healthy lawn for their clients by watering more efficiently.
C-O-MM’s peak daily demand occurs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5 am to 9am. To help reduce the stress on the pumping equipment and conserve water for essential needs, including fire protection and drinking, we ask that all residents/ irrigation companies please be mindful of the weather conditions and for irrigation systems to be set to the following time schedule:
- EVEN numbered houses water on Monday and Wednesday (before 5am-after 8pm)
- ODD numbered houses water on Tuesday and Thursday (before 5am-after 8pm)
- REFRAIN from watering during Friday, Saturday and Sunday
We want to thank our residents/customers who are already acting to conserve water. Many have reported that they have adhered to our suggested guidelines for setting irrigation systems throughout the district. However, our community still has room to improve in saving water during the summer.
If you have any questions, please contact our office, Monday through Friday8:00AM until 4:30 PM, or visit our website: www.commwater.com. THANK YOU FOR FOLLOWING THE OUTDOOR WATERING PROGRAM
Sincerely,
Craig Crocker, Superintendent
C-O-MM Water Department
